![]() ![]() Which is I guess +1 to being sea of thieves, but also +1 to prepare to die and lose alot of progress often.īeyond that, I dunno, guess kinda cool landing on planets with more than is on offer with Elite, in the end I'd say just go with Elite, played it for hundreds of hours within a year cos it was that good of a coop experience imho, just factor that more fun to play with everyone having own ships than all being in same ship versus SC, where not really about fun anways, about, you need them there for ship to be viable at all. Star Citizen is still in Alpha, and a lot of it's planned features - data running. That being said, if you enjoy that style of gameplay, you'll probably like ED. Other things to consider, Elite is more coop friendly with private groups, SC is only open play and ganking is a very real thing(if down with that, this doesnt matter) and while "server meshing" is supposed to increase player cap per instance of solar system from current laughable 50(on a good day, when the servers arent 30k'ing, etc) this will also mean it will massively increase the odds of dealing with PVP, whether you want to or not. Elite Dangerous is a game built very much to purposefully be a grind - grind for more money, more reputation, to get the next, better ship - to do the grind again, for the next ship. You can however, and CiG would love it if you did, spend upwards of $100 on a ship out of the gate to let you "skip the grind" which is.ya.imho not so hot (versus just having better and more gameplay loops right now) You will either need to grind alot in game with some barely functioning missions to afford such a ship(in game monies) can even accommodate one other person let alone a crew. Also, like.very rough and the hazard guess by devs currently on release is 2025, anyone who plays will likely tell you that is probably being optimistic, be lucky this rate to see server meshing and one more system by 2024 and this has big implications on playing it as a long term game right now, trust me, I know.Įlite is far more complete experience with far less(tho, yes, still bugs itself) bugs and issues overall.Įlite however does not have interiors(thus not very sea of thieves right), so if you will be primarily playing in SC and just messing around with friends, eh, ya guess can't go wrong with it there as not really that kind of "social" game play in Elite, tho will say its still a blast to play with friends, go hunt thargoids together etc.Īnother, and perhaps elephant in room is how actually get a ship to "sea of thieves" it up in SC. Star Citizen is NOT a game one simply just "boots up and plays", does not have a "verse" at all(and in end only planning 100 systems, I mean ya ya "they'll be content rich Mrsoul eeeee", but still, Elite is much larger scale) nor should be viewed as a game to be purchased for reliable game play, it is an alpha and still very much so, you are buying it at your own risk and certainly to do so with friends. I play both games, I love Elite, I gave SC a fair chance recently, and try not to be biased but I prefer Elite overall and I only play with friends so hope proves some valuable insight.Įlite is a game you can play 9.5/10 days(ie, yes it can have issues too) with your friends right now and has a virtual verse' full of content. ![]()
